TANDEM HOUSE
This project had a few challenges to consider. The building site was the back corner of a triple lot with an existing 50s style brick ranch along the front. The goal was to create a space that could serve as a studio workspace, 3 car garage, and short term rental house. The design was to be modern, yet compliment the design of the existing home, all while conforming to the strict guidelines set by Denver for “tandem” style homes. Another element closely thought through was the size - we wanted to maximize the size (final size: 2,000 SF), but not dwarf the existing home.
